The “Forever” artist will not face criminal charges over allegations he hit a woman during an argument in June. The case was closed by the Los Angeles City Police, confirms a spokesperson for the office.
“It was rejected due to insufficient evidence,” spokesman Rob Wilcox told Rolling Stone. The spokesperson did not give further details on the case.
Chris Brown was questioned by police about the alleged incident, which the woman said took place at a residence on June 18.
According to the alleged victim, the R&B superstar slapped her so hard that “some of her hair extensions came out.”
In his reaction to the dismissal of the case, Chris Brown shared a Rolling Stone story with the caption: “” I HOPE YOU WILL BLAST .. SH * T SO STUPID .. READY TO CANCEL A *** A BUT WHEN U DISCOVER IT IS [CAP] I DO NOT HEAR ANYTHING SAID !! BLADE A – ES.
Brown’s management team have not publicly reacted to the news that no charges will be laid, but the performer has angered members of the public following the news of the slap incident . Chris Brown has been accused of abusing women in the past.
In 2009, he was indicted and pleaded guilty to assaulting and bloodying the face of fellow singer Rihanna, with whom he was in a relationship. The incident took place just before the Grammy Awards, and Brown received an anger management attendance at a drug rehab as part of his mandatory sentence.
His ex-girlfriend, Karrueche Tran, also claimed he punched her twice in the stomach and pushed her down a staircase. She obtained a restraining order against the singer.
