James Fisher and Victoria Stanton tied the knot at Hidden River Barn

ONE COUPLE heaved a “sigh of relief” upon seeing themselves walking down the aisle on their dream wedding day.

James Fisher and Victoria Stanton, both 35, tied the knot on November 6 at Hidden River Barn.

The couple first met just over 10 years ago through a mutual friend, however, they only started dating six years ago.

“I think because we were both friends first, it was very easy to become something more,” Ms. Fisher said.

“We enjoyed the fun spirit and lovable nature of each as well as many mutual interests such as live music and family.”

The couple got engaged on Ms Fisher’s birthday in 2019, after James surprised her with a weekend in the Cotswolds.

Ms Fisher said: ‘On the way to our hotel we stopped at Painswick Rococo Gardens as James said he needed a break from the car and wanted to walk around the gardens.

“As we were walking we came to a statue and a pond overlooking the beautiful gardens and that’s where James knelt down and made his request.”

The loving couple said “yes” to Hidden River Barn in front of around 90 people.

“The day started out like anything we could have imagined and more,” Ms. Fisher said.

“It all started very early for me as my six bridesmaids and I got ready for the ceremony at 12:30 pm.

“Even though I found myself a little late (my hair extensions didn’t clip in), when I got there my cousin’s husband Dave was playing Ben Howard’s ‘Conrad’ on his guitar as I walked along. in the driveway.

“As I looked up at James, we saw each other and both heaved a sigh of relief.

“All the guests complimented us on the style, the flowers, the setting, the food and wine choices.

“We had chosen their menu to share and had Moroccan lamb which was delicious.

“James’s mother and aunt made four types of wedding cakes, including one vegan, which everyone loved.

“For the evening, we had chosen The Northern Lights, which started out by performing our first dance – ‘Everywhere’ by Fleetwood Mac.

“The band was a lot of fun and played all of our selected songs and more which kept everyone on their feet until the very end.”

After the wedding, the newlyweds traveled to Cheshire and stayed at Mottram Hall Spa for a few nights for their mini-moon.

The Fishermen are excited to plan their honeymoon for the start of next year in the Caribbean.
