The great outfits in the history of fashion: Solange in an off-white futuristic costume

There are some really good celebrity style moments, and then there are the looks that really stick to your mind, the ones you are desperately trying to recreate at home. In ‘Great outfits in the history of fashion, ‘The editors of Fashionista are revisiting their all-time favorite obscene.

Virgil Abloh has had many famous fans throughout his tragically short but deeply impactful career. And although he is best remembered for the menswear and streetwear accessories he designed for Off-White and Louis Vuitton – favored by Kanye West, Victor Cruz, Miguel, Kid Cudi, Timothee Chalamet and BTS – his creations made for memorable female looks on the red carpet. One of my favorites is from someone who hardly ever lacks fashion: Solange Knowles.

Knowles chose this Metallic Off-White suit for the 2016 CFDA /Vogue Fashion Fund award ceremony. She’s never been one to wear anything basic, and the shimmering fabric, voluminous pant shape, and the jacket’s subtle asymmetry create a refreshing, modern and glamorous look in an offbeat way. This idea of reworking a classic silhouette with a futuristic twist was also very Abloh. Style is also there: her minimalist strappy heels, asymmetrical silver earrings, slicked back hair and cream nail polish take it all to an even more chic level.
